Mario Engel
Music Producer • Visual Artist • Digital Imaging Technician
I am Mario Engelberger, a multidisciplinary artist from Switzerland, currently based in Zurich. My work spans digital technology, music production, and visual arts. As a Digital Imaging Technician (DIT), I collaborate with Kamerawerk GmbH in Winterthur, ensuring the highest image quality in film productions. In the music realm, I perform under the pseudonym The Flying Mars, crafting electronic soundscapes that blend experimental and ambient elements. Additionally, I create visual content as a videomaker, telling stories through dynamic imagery.

Music & Sound Design
Art has always been my foundation — but music is the force that keeps everything moving. From early band days to solo experiments, from live stages to film sound design, my creative journey has always revolved around sound.Today, I travel the world with two active music projects and work as a sound designer for film productions. One of these projects is The Flying Mars and the other is OUOA.

The Flying Mars explores the dance between earth and ether — organic grooves, deep frequencies, psychedelic textures. Music as movement, release, connection. It’s an invitation to feel, to breathe, to remember the body. The Flying Mars has released music on labels such as Altar Records, Mindspring Records, and Merkaba Music, and is currently part of the Feel Life Music booking agency roster.
OUOA moves in the opposite direction — inward. Minimal, cinematic, spacious. A sonic offering for contemplation, silence, ritual. Music that doesn't fill the space, but reveals it. It's a sonic journey through immersive textures and atmospheres.

Both projects share the same pulse: a love for sound as a language beyond words. A way to travel without leaving. A way to return home.

Videomaking & Artistic Projects
Visual storytelling has always been a natural extension of my musical journey.Through videomaking, I explore atmosphere, rhythm, and emotion — crafting images that resonate and move, just like sound. My work includes music videos, experimental pieces, Firmenfilme, corporate movies, and various artistic collaborations.
If you're interested in working together or commissioning a video, feel free to get in touch via email — I'd be happy to hear from you.
